As part of the event, elements of the modern world will appear in Darkwood for the first time, including instant noodles, a laptop, and other finds . . . because the game's screenwriter, Maria, has turned into a talking mouse and ended up inside her own story. The characters will be able to ask her long overdue questions like, "Why doesn't the Flower Girl have a name?" and "How to defeat the Curse?" To learn the answers and help Maria get back home, players will have to help her collect her lost belongings. A new hidden object location, the Art Gallery, will serve as the setting for the Timeless Anniversary event as well as the epicenter of the temporal paradoxes and glitches that have appeared in past updates. These paradoxes will bring back, if only temporarily, classic characters like Colonel Hammerstrike . . . without his mustache! First released on Valentine's Day in 2023, Darkwood Mail quickly gained popularity: since its release, the number of players who have taken part in the event has grown from 20% to 50%, thanks to updates, new designs, and an increase to the event time.
